According to ASTM E 162 standard using a radiant heat source for surface flammability test, radiant heat panels is 12 * 18 feet, radiant heat source placed on the front panel samples, Samples close to the ignition source. Board index calculated radiation: Is, the sample flame spread factor Fs, the heat change factor Q, as follows

Is=Fs*Q Q = CT/ß

Fs1+1/t3+1/(t6-t3)+1/(t9-t6) +1/(t12-t9) +1/(t15-12)

 

This test method is applied to NFPA130 fire performance testing part.
Test data requirements: Is ≤ 25 or Is ≤ 35
