DIN 4102-14:1990 floor covering systems using a radiant heat source
1. DIN 4102-14 Standard
DIN 4102-14:1990 Fire behaviour of building materials and elements; determination of the burning behaviour of floor covering systems using a radiant heat source.
DIN 4102-14 is similar with DIN ISO 9239-1.
2. DIN 4102-14 Test method
Based on the thermal radiation curve, the observed flame propagation distance converted KW/m2, calculating the critical heat radiation, accurate to 0.2 KW/m2. Sample does not ignite or flame spread not more than 110mm, it's critical heat flux ≥ 11 KW/m2, samples of flame propagation distance of more than 910mm, it's critical heat flux ≤ 1.1 KW/m2.
3. DIN 4102-14 Classification
DIN5510-2 Floor coverings flame rating SF1-SF3 (SF1, SF2, SF3), according to DIN 4102-14 or DIN EN ISO 9239-1
DIN 4102-14 can also be used to test the smoke optical density
