GB/T29416-2012 "Test method for fire performance of exterior wall insulation system" has been released

The National Standardization Administration recently issued Announcement No.42 of 2012, approving the release of the recommended national standard GB/T29416-2012 "Test Methods for Fire Performance of Exterior Insulation Systems for Building Facades." This standard is being released for the first time and will be implemented from October 1, 2013.

The national standard GB/T29416-2012 "Test Methods for Fire Resistance Performance of Exterior Insulation Systems on Building Facades" is one of the key standard projects included in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan for Fire Protection Standardization." The main technical content of this standard is based on the British standard BS8414-1:2002 "Fire Resistance Performance of Exterior Insulation Systems on Buildings-Part 1: Test Methods for Non-load-bearing Externally Insulated Systems Suitable for Building Surfaces" and LPS15812nd Edition: 2010 "Requirements and Test Methods for LPCB Certification of Non-load-bearing Exterior Insulation Systems Applied to Masonry Walls of Buildings," while fully considering the application status of exterior insulation systems on building facades in China. Through extensive experimental verification, it details the test equipment, specimens, condition adjustment, test procedures, post-test inspections, test result evaluation, and test report content for the fire resistance performance tests of exterior insulation systems on building facades.

The test methods specified in this standard are scientific and reasonable, meeting the production, application, and technical development needs of Chinas building exterior wall insulation systems, with an overall level reaching international advanced standards. The release and implementation of this standard will provide a technical basis for fire performance testing of Chinas building exterior wall insulation systems.
